books, books, booksy, books, books

Today I sent off the second draft of Stanley Wells book two (as yet still untitled). I'm sure there's more to be done to the writing, but I need my editor to tell me what these things might be. Work needs to begin on the (many) pictures now.

I also sent in a selection of edits to the interior artwork for Have You Ever Seen a Sneep? by Tasha Pym, and so there should mostly only be cover designing to come on that.

Stuff and things for two other books.

And, and! Addis Berner Bear will be published in America by Farrar, Straus and Giroux. I can't tell you how proud that makes me.

Now I'm going to go and read a book for a bit, instead of making them.

Oh, yes. I just finally got a chance to watch this that was sent to me by Apple (whoever you are...). It's quite a thing, though I'd still prefer it if they'd used real puppets.

Hey Im glad you liked it! I got the feeling some of it was real puppets and some wasn't (the Hensen character is CGI). This short was a college project, which is amazing in itself. At least one of the animators went on to work at Dreamworks. It breaks my heart a little to think of such an amazing animator to be working on the likes of Shrek.. Im a snob though, I much prefer Pixar. Im not sure whether to unveil my identity, however I may be meeting you at christmas anyway....

I got the impression that it was all digital, just that the textures on puppets are simpler to re-create.

Well, well aren't we mysterious. I refuse to be intrigued...

Well I would say mystery is my middle name, but its Elizabeth..

Are we going to get to see a sneeky peak of any of these new projects? Or is it all top secret?

I don't think there is anything I'm keeping so secret. The characters from the Michael Rosen book I've already posted, though they might have gone when I deleted the old archive of this blog. Everything else visual is only in my head so far (second Dexter book, drawings for Stanley two, Illustrations for Mrs Harkness and the Panda).

The other thing is just a possible new edition of the Hans Andersen book, which may or may not have some small changes inside.

I tend not to be able to resist posting a few things when they really exist.

Well, that told me! All sounds great, I'll keep quiet. I hope the sun is shining on your desk as beautifully as it is on mine. Have a good day,

Didn't mean to be short...

I wish it were, the sun that is. The only problem with this downstairs studio is that the light only hits at an oblique angle for a few moments in the day. I'll have to go out in it instead.

And a fine day to yourself.
