Weekend's work

A few pictures from my adventures in Cardiff on fri/sat. As I mentioned before, the project was to do with Roald Dahl day, though my involvement was a day late (and the info on that site is out of date in the other direction).

I think that I am pleased with the painting for the window. I dreaded to open the photograph, since I had many wishes about having painted more relaxedly and freely, but I think it is fine. Especially since my 'glamorous assistant' and I had to rush in a different way in order to escape Cardiff on the last train available before world cup rugby fans raged from the stadium and onto the rails...

The one-off cover design that I have done may be one of the prizes given in the next few months to children who are sending in their own. There is a website for that but I can't find it just now.

Great picture, I was thinking while midway through the BFG that one must be pretty brave to illustrate any Dahl after Quentin Blake but I think you're more than up for it.

Indeed, it is why I chose Charlie from the available list. It didn't have Quentin Blake pictures when it was first around (if anything I think more of the Gene Wilder film...)

I wanted to do George's Marvelous Medicine, because it was my favourite Dahl story as a child, but it wasn't on the list.
