Progress

Spent yesterday in a slight state of nervous exhaustion, due to fact that I presented my TV show on monday. The news is that we seem to have a thumbs up at this (important) stage in the yay-and-nay-saying/fund-raising process.

For now I am back working on Dexter Bexley 2 (currently titled Dexter Bexley & the Big Blue Beastie on the Road).

Insert nun pun

I was in the pigment and art supply shop Cornellisen's the other day and overheard a party of nuns accusing the shop of supplying inferior, or possibly even false, Naple's yellow. I suppose it shouldn't be surprising that Catholic nuns would be expert in the consistency and properties of pigments, especially that of Naples yellow, but it was pretty funny. They were belligerent...

It's still a great shop, if a little stuffy.

Muddled lines

The alarm stopped, the owner of my local greasy spoon played the Saz for me over lunch, I bought a lot of secondhand books, and a whole slew of nice little not-rushing-around-like-a-maniac type things happened. I'm still suffering from what's-next-on-the-list syndrome and muddled typing though.

I should warn you, the low part is the fun part.

Lying here on a copy of Have You Ever Seen A Sneep by Tasha Pym (pictures by me), is one of my favourite crocheted squid. Inside said squid are two more of my favourites, nestling russian-squid style.

The book is out in March. More on that later.

This week (after a weekend frantically spent playing and recording theme and incidental music) I battled my way out of (beautiful, deep-snow covered) London in a blizzard to do a week's worth of TV work in three days, ready for a presentation that was today cancelled due to travel and weather problems...

...so now I get a week off, and a very tired animator gets a reprieve.

There is an incessant alarm going off outside. It has been since at least last Friday. My ears played it back to me while I was away.
