I found your Black Carrot Diary website by chance. How whimsical your surreal creatures feel. I had to admit that I never saw those sad little men or sallow creatures anywhere else. You have a very active imagination. Your art has a delicate and personal feel. I actually, felt a little sad as I looked at your renderings. The old fisherman was hunched over ; the keep truck’in dude was lanky and just a tad misfit. Those sallow little men in groups seem so sad, also. They were aimless wanderers in a dank landscape. Does your art reflect the sadness in the UK? Some of the greatest painters in history had a morose vision of life. Van Gough couldn’t sell his art to the collectors of his time. Today his work is the stuff of fine art gallery . lore. I think there is a certain amount of suffering that has to go into our artistic creation. I can see there is a little suffering in your creations, but you also have an underlying sense of humor that quietly charms.
