Here is a link to the very nice interview with Quentin Blake that the guardian published last week. And to think that I've spent the morning chopping up and shifting round a text by Michael Rosen myself (this book is still not definite, so I don't know how much I should mention it really).

Here's a link to a few Dexter reviews that cheered me while fighting panic about other work that I must do. I'm really proud of how many other reviews mention what a great book it is to read aloud, since I actually wrote it very quietly.

Mumbles a grumble

Well, I'm just procrastinating hugely today. I know what the characters in the book I'm trying to design look like, I have a text that works much better than the versions that came before, but I have no idea how to fit the pictures and text together. Perhaps there is somebody I can call.

Shaun Tan, author and illustrator of the beautiful picture book 'The Red Tree' has made a comic. Look: The Arrival.

Do you think if I keep going with the new beard I can just jack it all in, take my guitar and travel about following the sun, singing pointless songs, and doodling like Devendra Banhart?

Concentration

Many months worth of work posted away at last, this late afternoon. Posted away through the drear and drizzle that probably helped force me to concentrate and finally get it done. Or maybe it is all those forms I've been putting off.

Over the phone came some secret news (I'll tell more later in the week, probably), and the secondary news that Addis Berner Bear made the Press Officer at Random House cry. I apologized and was a bit proud.
